Line sheets guidelines
Line sheets can be attached to pitch emails to showcase a wider range of products than the ones suggested in the email:
● Line sheets are only required for large or future product ranges.
● One-page PDF shorting products for press consideration.
● A press release is not a prerequisite to pitching, it’s a useful added extra.
● You should include:
Cut-out shots with product names.
Retail pricing.
Contact information.
Look book guidelines
Lookbooks are rarely requested by the press, but fashion and homeware brands create them to highlight their seasonal collections.
● 4-5 page PDF of lifestyle images from one collection.
● Include a short brand bio.
● Digital PDF over printed version - many press offices are paperless.
● Not a prerequisite or necessary unless desired.
Expert product pitching advice
-
We’ve sent thousands of pitch emails to the press. Here’s where to start:
Use our product pitch templates
Include keywords
List price of the product(s) suggested
Keep it short
-
Send a short follow-up 5-7 days after your initial pitch. Forward your original thread with attachments, making it easy for the editor to see what you pitched.
-
Use the Pitch Trackers within our database to easily stay on top of all PR activity.
-
Keep in mind that the press works on their own schedule and responds when they need something. Regularly sharing product suggestions means you'll stay top of mind.
