Good to keep in mind before we dive in:

Any past coverage is a relationship. Go back with new product or profile angles.

Press themes shift every few months, so refresh your pitches quarterly.

Not everything is trend-led; evergreen angles like “Best suitcases” or “Meet the Entrepreneur”
run year-round, so stay visible in inboxes.

Step 1: Download The Press Forecast

Here you’ll see what topics and themes the press will be covering across online, short-lead and long-lead titles in the next quarter.

Step 2: Choose products and profile angles

Pro tip:  Use AI to help you generate angles. Upload The Press Forecast to ChatGPT (or your chosen platform). Use prompt:

“Based on this document, create press pitches for [INSERT SECTOR, NAME OF BRAND AND WEBSITE URL] to send in the next quarter. Align them to what themes and topics the press will be covering”.

Align your key products with themes and trends that the press are writing about in the next quarter. Profile angles can either be evergreen or timely “Eg. How I keep my team motivated after the Christmas break”.

Step 3: Organise your hooks into relevant pitches

The pitch framework identifies all the different types of press. Choose the most relevant and organise your hooks to match. You can use this ChatGPT Pitch Prompts template to help you.

Step 4: Save opportunities

Filter the Proactive Opportunities in the database and save anything you haven’t already saved that could be relevant to pitch to the next quarter ahead.
