Freelance press usually work across a range of projects and features and take a different kind of interaction. Here’s what you need to know:
Freelancers and stylists are self-employed and are commissioned for individual features across multiple titles.
Areas of interest range from lifestyle to fashion and everything in between. Some freelancers don’t cover products and are more focused on profile stories or relevant topics.
A freelancer's work varies but they’ll still have their own signature style and topics of interest.
Make sure you look up the freelancer’s website to see recent projects and make sure the brand you’re pitching is a good fit.
Familiarise yourself with the topics they’re likely to cover then follow and build relevant relationships on social media.
Only some freelance press and stylists have email addresses. If there is no email address listed in the database then it’s because they don’t use their personal email for pitches.
