Image requirements & naming files

Having assets that are in the right format and right size increases chances of being featured.

Editors and journalists want to be able to finalise the feature as quickly and easily as possible, so having the images at their fingertips makes for an easier life, rather than having to chase files and formats. Correctly named images also increases your chances of being found in search, so will help with SEO and visibility, as well as supporting your brand awareness within the feature.

Imagery requirements
All imagery (cutout, lifestyle, founder, behind the brand,) must be:

  • JPEG or PNG files

  • At least 300 dpi
    Whilst an online space can work with imagery that is as low as 72 dpi all printed publications will need imagery that is at least 300 dpi. The actual measurements (cm and inches) and file size (i.e MB) do not matter as long as your image has the correct resolution.

Naming image files
Ensure your brand is credited correctly. Re-name your images:

  • Cut out imagery: Brand name - Product name - Price

  • Lifestyle imagery: Brand name - Product name - Price

  • Founder imagery: Brand name - Founder name - Headshot

  • Behind the brand imagery: Brand name - Homepage web address
